  1. The Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club in Bracebridge is a non-profit organization that opened in 2017. Since opening, this vibrant all-volunteer club has introduced the low impact sport of outdoor AND indoor winter bowling to hundreds of seniors in Muskoka and beyond. During the pandemic, the club provided a safe environment to enjoy physical activity, and much needed socializing. The low membership fee provides an enjoyable way to keep active, learn a new skill, meet new people, and offers an opportunity for its volunteers to give back to the community.

  2. As usual, my charity is the Huntsville Community Choir. They are hoping to get back into action in October and, hopefully, can find some young musicians to sponsor. They do support the high school music program.

  3. Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Rosseau is a non-profit organization that takes in over 1,000 injured and orphaned animals each year for rehabilitation. They also have several animals that can not be released back into the wild due to human interactions. This organization receives no government funding to do their amazing work and are dependent on donations and fundraising events to help preserve wildlife. I love going on tours to see many of the animals, hear their stories and learn about their behaviours.

  4. Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary is a not for profit charity that cares for injured and orphaned wildlife, and once rehabilitated, returns them back to their natural environment. For animals requiring a permanent home, they provide a safe and natural environment that satisfies their biological and behavioural needs.
This year, Aspen has already taken in over 1000 orphaned and injured animals. I am a part-time volunteer tour guide and animal care worker, and I know your support will make a difference. I hope to see you at Aspen, and together we can Keep Wildlife Wild.

  5. Hospice Muskoka is a non-profit charity that helps our community deal with the “elephant in the room” that nobody wants to talk about….death. They use a small army of dedicated volunteers to support clients and their caregivers in their homes to have a better end-of-life experience. Hospice Muskoka also runs Andy’s House, a residential hospice facility serving all of south and west Muskoka.. They continue to provide compassionate support after death thru their grief programs for adults and children. In short, they provide a much needed service to our communities.
